Razorhouse's EP release show at Martyrs' on Fri, Feb 23 With Support from Jay O'Rourke and Plastic Crimewave Syndicate

Chi, IL LIVE Shows On Our Radar:

Razorhouse's EP release show w/ Jay O'Rourke and Plastic Crimewave Syndicate at Martyrs' on Fri, Feb 23, 9pm
21+/$10
Razorhouse’s new EP, Codex Tres Lingua, is now out The band will be celebrating the release on Fri, Feb 23 at Martyrs’. Don't miss this.

Chicago’s Razorhouse is the brainchild of Mark Panick (Bonemen of Barumba) and his cohorts, longtime percussionist David Suycott (Robert Pollard, Machines of Loving Grace), guitarist Tommi Zender, bassist Jim DeMonte (Insiders, Marquis) and mixing engineer Howie Beno (Ministry, Depeche Mode, Blondie).

Codex Tres Lingua is Razorhouse's 3rd EP out on Underwear Factory Toy Records.

1.GO
2. Walking with the deadmen
3. Cut me low
4. Mortality vs. the Accountant
5. Across the wire

RAZORHOUSE
Like a zealous tent revival rolling back into town, Mark Panick’s post-Bonemen of Barumba project, Razorhouse, returns with Codex Tres Lingua to be released on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, on Underwear Factory Toy Records. The songs on Codex Tres Lingua are sewn through with literary dark thread while brimming with cinematic art-punk. The record is filled with love-torn riches mired in muck and is a grand statement from a compassionate punk. Razorhouse is the brainchild of Mark Panick (Bonemen of Barumba, Chac Mool, Black Friars Social Club) and his cohorts, longtime percussionist David Suycott (Robert Pollard, Machines of Loving Grace), guitarist Tommi Zender, bassist Jim DeMonte (Insiders, Marquis) and mixing engineer Howie Beno (Ministry, Depeche Mode, Blondie). Panick is known for his inroads in art-punk and weird-core, Razorhouse is a new angle on the same throbbing dark underbelly of the human condition. Only this time it is conjured into a stew that comes out sounding like some twisted American songbook. For those who want their pop music to come from the red light district, and those who want their nightmares to have a lush and memorable soundtrack, there is Razorhouse. On Codex Tres Lingua, Razorhouse simultaneously looks back wistfully, covering the 1981 Bonemen of Barumba song “Walking With The Deadmen” (a Joy Division-meets-Cramps track and Jon Peel favorite) and aggressively traverses alien territory with the soulful, Americana-tinged “Cut Me Low.” In “Across the Wire,” the EP’s 5th track, Panick and Nora O’Connor (The Flat Five, Mavis Staples, Andrew Bird, Neko Case) weave together verses thick with imagery. Throughout the EP’s five tracks, there’s a stylistic breath and diversity that the band embraces while keeping a foothold in their dark-hued world. That is the magic of Razorhouse: they draw us into to their strange territory and show us what it is like to go walking with the deadmen.

CHRISSIE HYNDE: STOCKHOLM JUNE 10 U.S. RELEASE ON CAROLINE #AlbumStreaming

APRIL 1 PRE-ORDERS TO INSTANTLY RECEIVE FIRST SINGLE "DARK SUNGLASSES"

25 million records sold and 30-plus years into her tenure as Pretenders founder and leader, Chrissie Hynde will release Stockholm, the first ever album under her own name, June 10 on Caroline Records in the U.S.

"It's the first album with my name on it," Chrissie says. "But it's not a solo album. In fact, making this album was more of a collaboration than any Pretenders album ever was."

We're huge fans of Chrissie here at ChiILMama & ChiIL Live Shows.  Click here to check out our coverage of her Kidzapalooza appearance back in the day!

Recorded at Ingrid Studios in Stockholm with co-writer/guitarist Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John at the helm, the album features contributions from Neil Young, John McEnroe and Joakim Ahlund of the Caesars. 11 tracks of fresh and irreverent rock n roll in Chrissie's unmistakable voice and style, Stockholm will be heralded by first single "Dark Sunglasses," which will go out instantly to all pre-orders on April 1. "Dark Sunglasses" is a perfect embodiment of the attitude and aim Chrissie employed in the creation of Stockholm: "I wanted to make a power pop album you could dance to - Abba meets John Lennon."

"Dark Sunglasses" can be streamed HERE and HERE.

Stockholm may not be a solo album but it certainly has the vibe of an energized debut by a vital artist, one who gives voice to the disaffected while celebrating the undeniable power of a classic love song, a night on the dance floor, honest authentic rock n roll and other things that make life worth living. "So much of rock n roll has become what I would call Glory Rock, with family values. It's the irreverence in rock that was always the turn-on. I disagree with people who say you shouldn't take yourself too seriously. I think life is serious, and you should take it seriously, but in rock n roll either have a fucking laugh or fuck off."

Track Listing:

1. You Or No One
2. Dark Sunglasses
3. Like In The Movies
4. Down The Wrong Way
5. You're The One
6. A Plan Too Far
7. In A Miracle
8. House Of Cards
9. Tourniquet (Cynthia Ann)
10. Sweet Nuthin
11. Adding The Blue

DRAGONY Debut Album Legends Streaming In Full

Legends Available Tomorrow 14th Via Limb Music
Austrian power metallers DRAGONY will release their debut album Legends, tomorrow on Limb Music.  Today the band is giving fans a sneak peak to listen to the entire album one day before it is released.  Get a first listen HERE, courtesy of AOL Music's Full Album Listening Party Series.

What first began as a project in the idyllic alpine republic has solidified into a real band. Everyone knows that Austrians don't do things half-heartedly and it was only to be expected that the former DRAGONSLAYER PROJECT had evolved into a solid lineup by 2008. Since then the road led ever upwards for the six lads from Vienna.

Being professional enough to recognize that the band name was a bit bulky, they changed it to DRAGONY in 2011 and continued their march forward. Their excellently produced debut album comprised of melodic, symphonic power metal with traditional character which stands up well against comparisons with the productions of long-standing international acts.

So it is also no wonder that the DRAGONY musicians have become well known on the Austrian circuit. Legendscombines the entire know-how of the six lads in ten songs, which span sounds from tough heaviness to high-powered melody lines. Overall, Legends can be summed up as high quality, symphonic power metal with ass-kicking melody inserts, powerful guitars and lyrics with insight.

The work on the debut album lasted until the end of 2011, but for good reasons: They had been able to talk numerous guest musicians into contributing their skills, for example Tom Tieber of Ecliptica, Katie Joanne of Siren's Cry and naturally Ralf Scheepers of Primal Fear, all of whom give their best on the album, as do many other guest musicians from the Austrian scene. And it is exactly because of these additional performances by their guests, that the material retains a certain rock opera character. Fine-tuning the result was carried out by Mika Jussila during his wonderful mastering work in the Finnvox Studios in Helsinki.

Legends unites a powerful wall of guitars with huge choruses in songs, which are predominantly kept in mid-tempo style. The impressive, charismatic voice of Siegfried "The Dragonslayer" Samer, is hugely admirable, with its incredible volume driving every song forward. After a classical intro,DRAGONY get down to business with "Burning Skies", a bone-shaking, fast power metal number with a great rhythm, gilded by the exceptional voice of Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear). After an ass-kicking headbanger beat in the first third of "Land Of Broken Dreams", the guitar duo Andreas Poppernitsch and Daniel Stockinger continue with brilliant riffs, clearly influenced by Avantasia and Hammerfall. This is pure steel being hammered into shape! The rather epic and theatrically configured "The Longest Night" changes speed and feeling during its entire playing time, making the track extremely varied. Of course, as far as DRAGONY's overall sound goes, one finds similarities with bands such as Edguy, Kamelot, Sabaton and Stratovarius, bands with unforgettable, attainable, melodic elements, somewhere between traditional, classical heavy metal and epically configured song structures.Legends and its high quality will not disappoint any fan of those bands - this album is far too good for that!

THE COMPANY BAND Pros and Cons EP Streaming in Full on AOL Music

Available Tomorrow via Weathermaker Music
Since THE COMPANY BAND first got together in 2006, the group has solely existed through semi-annual corporate retreats. These meetings developed into an organization of odd fellows featuring vocalist Neil Fallon from Clutch, drummer Jess Margera from CKY, guitarist / vocalist Jim Rota from Fireball Ministry, bassist Brad Davis from Fu Manchu and guitarist Dave Bone. Since the beginning, the group has rarely surfaced to show their hand. In 2007 it was the Sign Here, Here and Here EP. In 2009 it was The Company Band album along with the It's A Confusing World / Not Fragile single. And after a recent retreat at a beach house in Venice, the group have a new five song EP ready entitled Pros & ConsPros & Cons will be released in tomorrow via Weathermaker Music.

Today THE COMPANY BAND is giving people the chance to hear the Pros & Cons EP in its entirety, before it hits stores tomorrow.  The EP is streaming as part of the AOL Music Full Album Listening Party Series, and can be heard HERE .  Make sure to check it out and order your copy today!

Not many have known the origins of THE COMPANY BAND until Jess Margera finally opened up about its inception. "I crossed paths with Jim on tour and knew we should open up shop immediately. Do some instrumentals that could be valuable in the placement market. Then he suggested getting Bone involved. It's then when we laid down our original presentation that we took to Neil. We hoped he could be a guest speaker on one of the tracks but it fortunately turned out that he wanted a permanent seat. Brad Davis came seamlessly into the fold later as he was already a compatriot with several of the members, musically and socially."

Dying Fetus Reign Supreme Album Out Tomorrow-Streaming Link, Contest & Tour Dates

DYING FETUS' new album Reign Supreme will receive its long awaited release tomorrow June 19th via Relapse Records. Today Metal Sucks is hosting an exclusive full album stream of Reign Supreme. Check out the entire record HERE  and be sure to order your copy HERE.

Reign Supreme should find its place in any avid fan of technical/brutal death metal fan's collection
-Metal Injection-

The originators of deathcore are clearly here to stay.
-Stereo Killer-

ChiIL Live Shows was set to do a video interview with Dying Fetus, when they played Reggies' in Chicago last week, but a 9 year with the stomach flu put a wrench in the works at the final hour.   Things were pretty sick around here, and not in the good way.....We'll make it up to you next time you swing through Chi-Town.   We do have a sweet video interview and live show shots with their openers, Revocation, from their Ultra Lounge & Bottom Lounge gigs a few months back.

Reign Supreme features nine tracks and is a "return to roots" with production focused slightly more on slam than in the band's last few works.  Thematically, the album is set to be a good old-fashioned piece of social and political commentary in the style of DYING FETUS as we have come to know.

The band recently completed work on a video for the song "From Womb to Waste". The video features 12 camera angles from a recent live show at Maryland Deathfest held at Sonar in Baltimore, MD. The video was filmed and directed by Scott Hansen (Animals as Leaders, A Day to Remember).   Check it out.

Alternative Press Magazine is hosting an exclusive giveaway of a DYING FETUS ESP LTD guitar. The grand prize also includes a deluxe copy of Reign Supreme and a DYING FETUS t-shirt. Two additional winners will be chosen to receive a copy of Reign Supreme. To enter the contest, visit the giveaway page HERE.

DYING FETUS are currently on tour supporting Reign Supreme. Currently they are taking part in the "18 Nights of Blood Tour" with label mates REVOCATION and Six Feet Under. Immediately following those tour dates the band will head to back to Europe for a headlining run as well as additional festival dates including the "With Full Force" festival in Roitzschjora, Germany, "Sevilla Rock Festival" in Sevilla, Spain and the "Getaway Rock Fest" in Gävle, Sweden.

In More DYING FETUS tour news the band has just confirmed the dates for "The Womb to Waste" headlining European tour. The tour will kick off September 14th in Lindau, Germany and runs through October 14th in Aarschot, Belgium. Support on the tour will come from label mates REVOCATION, Job For a Cowboy and Cerebral Bore. A complete list of dates can be found below.
