Bad Things Self-Titled Debut Album Now To Be Released October 29th On Warner Bros. Records #streamingsingle

LA rock band Bad Things - that consists of front man/lead singer Davis LeDuke, bass player Jared Palomar, guitarist Anthony Sanudo, drummer Lena Zawaideh and lead guitarist Shaun White, well known for snowboarding and skateboarding - will release their debut, self-titled album October 29th on Warner Bros. Records (iTunes Pre-Order Link). The record was produced by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliot Smith, The Vines).
Did you catch Bad Things on stage at Lollapalooza 2013?!   Check 'em out.

They also rocked the Kidzapalooza with Perry Farrell.

The lead single "Anybody, " a "chugging rock anthem heavy with choirboy backing harmonies" according to Rolling Stone, is now for sale at iTunes and streaming on YouTube and Soundcloud

Bad Things recently wrapped a North American tour of the country that included festival stops at Lollapalooza in Chicago and Osheaga Festival in Montreal. Rembert Browne of Grantland wrote a compelling, in depth feature on the band after being blown away by what he'd seen at Lolla. "I watched a band put on a surprisingly great show, causing a crowd to go from embarrassingly sparse to filled but skeptical to convinced by the end" remarked Browne about the band's headlining performance Saturday night, filling in the spot vacated by Death Grips. "I truly didn't know what to do with what I'd just seen, because I'd yet to accept the reality that a band featuring White pulled a substitute teacher move for Death Grips and did not fall on its face. But I wanted to know more. So I chatted with the band."

Reports from Osheaga were equally as impressive. Canadian media outlet Dose.ca awarded Bad Things with the #1 Most Surprising Moment of the festival, raving about their performance. "Google 'Bad Things' and you'll be inundated with articles that start with the words 'Shaun White's band...,' which is totally misleading, considering how much more there is to these guys" says Dose. "They have great original material and the kind of solid musicianship and stage presence you'd expect from a group that's been playing together for years."
Bad Things are confirmed for a November 2nd performance at Voodoo Festival in New Orleans. More tour news to be announced in the near future.

The band recorded the album in Florida at Audio Hammer Studios and vocals in Los Angeles, CA at Dez's home studio with Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, All That Remains) handling production duties.  DEVILDRIVER has worked with Lewis previously on "Beast" and "The Last Kind Words" and producer Mark Lewis's prolific leadership of the new school of metal has yet again helped DEVILDRIVER deliver another epic heavy metal record.  This record melds what the band does best. BIOS:

THE RASCALS, formerly known as The Young Rascals, are one of the most influential, and artistically important American bands in Rock and Roll history. In a time dominated by the English rock acts of the British Invasion, The Rascals not only survived but thrived. The post-twist New York, New Jersey, and Long Island club scenes bred the band, an outfit whose sound grew more sophisticated as time went on but stayed rooted in the blue-eyed soul that was its first reason for being. At first a hard-hitting band reminiscent of the early Animals, the Rascals drew from the same well that fed the then-burgeoning garage rock scene.  They would go on to lead the way for Blue Eyed Soul to Folk Rock to Protest to Civil Rights, blending white Pop melodies with black soul and R&B muscle. Though they never brandished their politics like some bands, the Rascals truly lived theirs, fighting discrimination by demanding that a black act appear on the bill at each of its concerts.

Their music would span the entire decade from the early Go-Go dance parties right through the psychedelic era - and beyond.  The band released numerous top ten singles in the mid- and late-1960s, including “How Can I Be Sure”, “Come On Up”, "You Better Run", "I've Been Lonely Too Long", “Beautiful Morning”, and the #1 hits "Good Lovin'", "Groovin'", and "People Got to Be Free".  They went their separate ways in the early 70's, finally reuniting for one night in May of 1997 when Steven Van Zandt inducted them into the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  And now the day music historians never thought would happen, The Rascals' original lineup—Felix Cavaliere, Gene Cornish, Eddie Brigati and Dino Danelli—have reunited for their first public performances in 40 years with "Once Upon A Dream," a combination concert/theatrical event produced and directed by Steven Van Zandt and lighting/projection wizard Marc Brickman. Ladies and Gentleman....THE RASCALS ARE BACK!

North Coast Music Festival Photo Recap From ChiIL Live Shows #NCMF #originalphotos

Summer's last stand persevered despite 2 storm related evacuations including Fridays freak fiasco featuring giant hail, torrential downpours and 60MPH winds. Bead girls and trance boys were out in full force for the sold out fest.   YOLO.   You only live once indeed.   What's a little mud n rain when great tunes are going down?

The ominous skies made for some sweet photo ops.   Wish I could have caught the flashes of lightning!

It's the first year we saw copious amounts of hammocks.

And there were new playthings among the neon glow toy arsenal... I'm not quite sure what you would call them... frondish glo whips?!

Of course the glo hoops, poi balls, and glowing finger gloves added to the festive after dark fun.

People watching was prime.   Some of our favs were the stilt walking "safety patrol" and their words of wisdom... don't start yourself on fire.   Words to live by.

We also had another shreddy shirt boy sighting.   Mat (with 1 t, heavy duty kneepads, and a wardrobe he shreds himself) and his twin brother are fixtures on the Chicago fest scene.   We've been featuring "Spot Shreddy Shirt Boy" posts for years.  It's like a cooler, alt version of Where's Waldo played out in reality.

Check out our past Shreddy Shirt Boy features here.

Here's a flashback to the very first year of North Coast Fest--Shreddy Shirt Boy, Mat, hangin' with my daughter, Sagezilla.

Blast from the past:   NCMF 2010  ChiIL Mama's daughter, Sagezilla, in her Motorhead tee, rocks the backstage/VIP area moonbouncer with friend Judah in his Listen to Bob Marley Tee.

Here are some of our fav. NCMF13 crowd shots.

Check back with us all year for free downloads, tour news, original content photos and band video interviews.   We'll see you out there.

"STREET BANGERZ VOL. 4"

Available For Free Download - HERE

Stream SB4 - HERE

While we anxiously await for The Age Of Reason album release, Gramatik gives away 22 tracks, including a free mix tape to hold us over until fall. "Street Bangerz 4" is a compilation of leftover tracks from SB1 featuring Gramatik's classic sound back when he was known for producing simple and raw, sample-based hip-hop beats.

As Gramatik prepares for the second part of his upcoming Age Of Reason Tour, he unleased the album's second single, "You Don't Understand" and announced an additional Halloween show teaming up with GRiZ to play the biggest GrizMatik show to date at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, ColoradoThe Massacre Begins will feature support by turntablist A-Trak along with guitarist Don Daro of Exmag, who will also be joining Gramatik on tour this fall. General tickets for The Massacre Begins are now on sale.

In hype of the forthcoming album, Gramatik explains how he differs from the vast majority of electronic musicians as he records using live instruments while striving to make dance music that tells a story. During a recent interview with Relix Magazine, he states, "There's a lot of guitar, bass, piano, all types of organs, lots of original vocals - more than any other record I've ever produced. [The Age of Reason] combines all the genres I've been producing since the beginning in the most drastic, neurotic, cohesive and outrageous way imaginable."
