CLUTCH has been one of our favorites here at ChiIL Live Shows for decades. They're still cranking out jammin' new tunes and their live shows are incredible, with a different set list nightly. Band members take turns creating the set list. And their fans are also some of the nicest, most genuinely fun people out there. We're loving the new stuff they've released so far, off their upcoming album, and we're beyond excited to hear it in it's entirety.

Clutch’s song “Hot Bottom Feeder” is, in essence, a recipe for Maryland crab cakes set to Clutch’s inimitable style.  Watch the accompanying lyric video here.

Each of the single releases from Book of Bad Decisions is accompanied by a Spotify playlist put together by one of the band members. In this instance it's Dan Maines who asks you to “Check out our latest release Hot Bottom Feeder and beat the heat with these stone cold classics.” We checked it out and Dan's Spotify playlist is pretty sweet!

CLUTCH SPECIAL GUEST ON THE US DATES OF 

VOLBEAT’S

REWIND REPLAY REBOUND WORLD TOUR

April 4th to the 15th and May 5th to the 13th 2020

Clutch announce April and May 2020 US tour dates as Special Guest of Volbeat’s Rewind Replay Rebound World Tour. The first leg of the tour starts on April 4th in Tempe, AZ at 98KUPDUFest and finishes April 15th in Atlanta, GA. The second leg of the tour starts May 5th in Youngstown, OH and ends in New York, NY on May 13th. The Picturebooks open each show.

Clutch has some interesting history with Volbeat. Back in 2011 Clutch successfully supported Volbeat on their mainland European dates. Most recently Neil Fallon was invited by Michael Poulson to share vocal duties on Volbeat’s recording of the track “Die To Live” and to join the band at the video shoot for the song in Boston, MA. 

“It’s a catchy straight-ahead rocker of a song and I am flattered to have been asked to participate” says Neil Fallon. Tim Sult very favorably remembers the 2011 tour with the band. “We had such a great time touring Europe with both Volbeat and The Picturebooks, it was only natural that we do it in the US.”

Photo Recap: Clutch LIVE at Bogart's in Cincinnati #metal

Clutch has been a favorite of ours for decades and we've had the pleasure of shooting them a number of times over the years, and catching lead singer, Neil Fallon for a video interview that's up to nearly 17,000 views.  Click here & scroll down & here too, to check out more of our past Clutch Photo Features.

We always hit Cincinnati to spend the holidays with family, but this year we were extra stoked that several of our favorite bands were playing back to back while we'd be down! We scored photo credentials/press list for two nights at Bogart's and got our metal on. We'd actually seen Clutch at Bogart's once years ago, and it's a great smallish venue compared to the places we usually see them in Chicago.

They killed it with a high energy, sold out tour opener that featured loads of old school favorites and some sweet, new material making a first debut on stage! 

We were particularly happy to catch Texan Book of the Dead, D.C. Sound Attack!, Profits of Doom, Cypress Grove, The Mob Goes Wild, and A Shogun Named Marcus. 

Clutch is currently on tour with support by Torche and Lionize. Lionize’s Jetpack Soundtrack was co-produced by Clutch drummer Jean-Paul Gaster and released on Clutch's own Weathermaker Records label earlier this year.

Last year, they skipped Chi-town on tour (Joliet was the closest they came), so we road tripped down to The Vogue in Indianapolis to catch 'em with Prong and Lionize.   We'll be video interviewing Lionize tomorrow.

Here at ChiIL Live Shows we've caught The Obsessed in Chicago on past tours and they were our favorites of CLUTCH's NYE 17/18 openers. We're Chicago based, but we were more than happy to road trip from Chi, IL to Columbus to catch CLUTCH. We've seen and photographed CLUTCH live numerous times over two decades and this was our 2nd time to catch them for a NYE show. I've even done a video interview with lead singer, Neil Fallon, that's still one of my favorite metal band interviews of all times. Fun fun.
